Common cold plasma source

An option I think is worth pursuing is a shared cold plasma generator between the reactor and the impulse engines.

The reactor uses much hotter plasma than the engines, but they both start with cold plasma, which is just heating the hydrogen fuel to a point where it ionises so that it can be magnetically contained for further heating. Why duplicate this equipment?

Reaction Ignition System Simulator

The Reaction Ignition System adds energy to the reactor's fuel isotope mix until the reaction generates enough energy to sustain itself (ignition).

Reactor Plasma Simulator

The reactor plasma system manages the ‘triple product’ necessary to maintain a self-sustaining fusion reaction: plasma density, temperature and energy confinement time.

Reaction Plasma System

Fusion reaction is fueled by hydrogen isotopes that are heated to create plasma, which is then excited to reach the energy level required for fusion to begin. The plasma must then be maintained at sufficient density to ensure the reaction remains self-sustaining.
