Endeavour Deck Plan: Deck 2

Deck two is taller than standard to accommodate cargo and laboratory requirements.

Two Close-In Weapons Systems (CIWS) are mounted at the bow for defence and to eliminate navigation obstacles. This section forward of the firewall is otherwise reserved for installation of primary beam weapon systems should these become available in the future.

A redundant pair of deflector field generators are located just behind the forward firewall. These power the deflector arrays on the bow and forward sections of the hull.

Atmospheric processing and gravity generation equipment supports the requirements of decks 1-3.

Science Labs

A number of laboratories support a range of scientific fields, as well as two lab spaces that can be configured for misson-specific requirements.
